Kicherkacheln – ‘Giggling Tiles‘ (London), video loop, 2 min 09 sec.
This is part 3 of a set of my work that explores the nature of art and consciousness. It shows macroscopic reflections as a pulsating video loop, inviting the viewer to get absorbed by the moving, colourful imagery.
Synopsis: Visual perception is limited to reflections of light. The set of work explores physiological, neurological effects of light and its visionary potential. Inspired by the brain's tendency to synchronise with pleasant light stimuli, the work deals with the power of moving imagery to shape our thoughts, moods and behaviours. The moving light-crystals aim to stimulate the viewers brain sensory system, triggering a giggling effect, induced by the moving & bright visuals.
This video was shown in the Roundhouse in London as part of a group exhibition.
Geistesblitze – 'Flashes of Wit' (London), video loop, 54 sec.
This is part 2 of a set of my work that explores the nature of art and consciousness. It shows blurred reflections of confetti as a pulsating video loop, inviting the viewer to get absorbed by the moving, colourful imagery.

Herzklappern – 'Heart Rattling' (Kufstein/Munich), video loop, 1 min 9 sec.
This video is an answer to a set of my previous work which explores the nature of art and consciousness. Whereas the series 'Kicherkacheln', 'Geistesblitze' and 'Herzflattern' is focusing on emotional intelligence, this piece reacts to and re-inacts 'Herzflattern', by giving it a robotic touch, an almost cold impression. Its title 'Herzklappern' means heart-rattling, which also plays with the idea of the loss of something bodily in our era of disembodying technologies such as VR. Nevertheless the beating or rattling of the heart is not solely that of a machine. Even in this instance the viewers emotions are contained inside the icon of the beating, making it appear alive and almost human.

Hummelflug – ‘Flight of a Bumblebee‘ (Munich), video loop, 2 min 29 sec.
This video loop explores a different mode of perception by means of constantly moving and evolving colours. Bumblebees perceive colours much quicker than the human eye. How would a human perceive the flight of a bumblebee? Let's put ourselves in a bumblebee's shoes!
